Network to Innovate: Towards Transnational Cooperation in EIP – What Does It Mean?

This online workshop took place on September 17, 2024, and was organized by the Rural Networks from the Nordic-Baltic countries.

Workshop Overview:

The aim of the workshop is to encourage other EU member states to implement transnational cooperation in EIP. The workshop showcases examples of our motivation, tools, and skills on how we have initiated cooperation and made transnational cooperation possible for our beneficiaries. The workshop also raises the question of whether we should have more supportive measures for transnational cooperation in the post-CAP27 period.

Target Audience:

The event is targeted at managing authorities, paying agencies, and national networks in EU member states implementing the EIP measure. Additionally, all interested participants are welcome to join.

Focus will be on two main topics:

1.Transnational Cooperation in EIP

  • You will learn how Estonia and Finland have successfully implemented transnational EIP initiatives during the previous programming period. This success was achieved through effective collaboration at the ministry, paying agency, and national rural network levels. How does this process look from different perspectives? Find detailed information about each step in our report HERE
  • Transnational cooperation in EIP, particularly within the Nordic-Baltic region, provides an additional boost to farmers and innovators. The Rural Networks have taken the initiative to create a working group on EIP Transnational Cooperation (TNC). Learn more about the benefits of expanding transnationally in EIP by exploring further HERE

2. How to Make It Happen? Practical Example: The Finnish Electronic Application System

  • The second part of the workshop will introduce the Finnish Electronic Application System, focusing on a case example of a transnational EIP project. The presentation explains the logic behind the application system and demonstrates how to apply for a transnational project. This user-friendly platform aims to speed up application and payment processes.

Programme & presentations

We will also have time for discussion. Alongside Zoom, we will use the Padlet dashboard to share inspiring solutions, explore cooperation opportunities, and address questions related to the workshop's theme.
