Researches sustainable cultivation methods of crops and performs field tests, monitoring, and forecasts. Also studies how weather and climate affect crops.
We study the impact of tillage, sowing, fertilizing, crop protection and crop management on plants, soil and sustainability. We find out the most suitable agrotechnologies for the varieties.
Agroecology
- Monitoring and ongoing evaluation of Estonian RDP environmental interventions, managing thematic database.
- Performing communication- and training activities for raising awareness of environment, natural diversity and environmentally friendly management.
- Conducting different agri-ecological studies such as the usage of fertilizers in a rational and reasonable way, plant nutrients balance, fertility and soil maintenance.
- Conducting studies on yield and quality of agricultural crops.

Rural economy
- Collecting, checking and disseminating the Farm Accountancy/Sustainability Data Network (FADN/FSDN) data.
- Performing the duties assigned to the FADN/FSDN Liaison Agency and participating in networking activities.
