Listed advisers can start providing advisory services with the help of an advisory grant funded by the EU's Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) strategic plan.
The new regulation expands the circle of advisors – in addition to professionally certified advisors, now researchers, lecturers, and other experts in the field will also be able to provide subsidized advisory services.
explains Leho Verk, Head of METK Training and Advisory Service.
The development of agriculture in Estonia will inevitably lead to the need to apply the results of scientific research, pay more attention to environmental protection, and maintain a decent living environment. In light of the above, farmers will soon have access to advice from a broader range of experts.
"All certified advisors, of course, are welcome to join the list." said Verk.
"For the new period, advisory services in the field of agriculture and rural economy will be reorganized and coordinated by METK from the beginning of 2024," he also added.
METK's Training and Advisory Service started its operations on 1 January 2024. Until then (2015-2023), the Rural Development Foundation (MES) provided advisory services in agriculture and rural management.
