Hundreds of farms and rural enterprises all over Estonia await guests at the popular family event. Food production and rural life will be presented, but there will also be food and exciting activities for the whole family.

A record 357 farms took part in a highly anticipated summer event in 2023. The event attracted a record number of visitors – over 280,000. "It's one thing to talk about the importance of food production and the hard-working Estonians who contribute to it, but it's quite another to see for yourself the tremendous amount of work that is everyday life in the countryside. We hope that hundreds of farms and rural businesses all over Estonia will be waiting for people to visit them in the new year to show them what they do and produce," said Regional Minister Madis Kallas.

Last time, the event attracted both old and new participants.

In all, 21 farms have participated nine times, 38 farms eight times, and 187 farms have participated more than half the time. For the first time in 2023, 76 farms participated. We are looking forward to welcoming both old friends and newcomers again next year!

said Reve Lambur, Head of the Rural Network Service at the Centre of Estonian Rural Research and Knowledge.

The Open Farm Day is organized by the Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture in cooperation with the Centre of Estonian Rural Research and Knowledge. Information on the registration of farms and other details will be published in early 2024.

Deisi Helemäe-Sarv from the Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture issued the press release.
